Xbox 360 + Wireless Ethernet Bridge…?
Hi
I have just bought a Belkin D5F3770 Wireless Ethernet Bridge so i can connect my xbox 360 to xbox live.
But i am having some problems.
When i connect it up the xbox 360 wont connect to xbox live. When i ran the connection test , it didn’t get past the first stage.
I contacted Belkin and they told me that i would have to contact my Router Manufacturer and ask them to forward my ports (whatever that means). But i think all i need to do is to manually enter some info on the 360.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

It sounds like your bridge may not be set up correctly. The first step is to try hooking a wired connection to a laptop or pc and turning off the wireless adapter. Try to access the internet with that computer going through the bridge and get that working first.
If that doesn’t work, then you need to specify which router you are using so you can set the right settings.

Actually, the likely problem is that you have information entered on the 360. Put all network settings to automatic, and all advanced settings to "not set". If your Wireless Ethernet Bridge is connected to the wireless network, then it will pass the information needed to the 360 automatically. (Usually there is an indicator light that will tell you it is connected to a wireless network, but I am not familiar with your particular model)
Also, typically with ethernet bridges there are multiple channels/profiles you program from your computer. Make sure you are using the correct channel/profile.
If the above doesn’t help you, then as the person before me said, your ethernet bridge may not be configured correctly with your wireless network.
A last point to make is the 360 should pass the first connection test, even if the ports aren’t opened. Those are simple IP, DNS, and Gateway tests. The last portion (the Xbox live test) would fail from improper port forwarding/filtering. Personally though, I don’t use any sort of forwarding myself on my bridge.
