WiFi Antenna to RJ45 port adapter?
Okay, currently I have a PCI ethernet (RJ45) card on my desktop computer. Is there an adapter or WiFi antenna with a RJ45 input available?
For instance, connecting a WiFi antenna directly into my RJ45 port that is installed on my computer.
I’m looking for a special WiFi antenna that does not have a coax output, but instead, a RJ45 output.
I might consider DIY-ing one.

I’ve never seen anything like that, but wouldn’t it be something?
I know there are USB wireless adapters, so you might have to go that way.
Good luck.

That is not going to work…You will have to purchase a wifi adapter. They are very affordable and available in many different interfaces USB, PCI etc…Just buy a USB wifi adapter you wont even have to open the PC to install quick and easy.
Check out http://www.Newegg.com they have very good prices and have great customer service!
Hope this helps!

What you’re talking about is known as a wifi bridge, you need a device to act as a client on the wireless network, and then translate the date to an RJ-45 port. A Linksys WET54G Bridge will do the trick.

I don’t know of anything made for that. Can you use a USB dongle?
I haven’t tried so I don’t know the viability of this option, but you might want to check into http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+use+router+as+wireless+adapter
