first go to the wireless router settings on ur laptop and set it in the room of the xbox. then go to the wireless adapter settings on ur xbox. on ur laptop , check if there is a password for the router. if there is, the either dissable it, or enter it in the "find a network" or whatever on ur xbox settings. if not then make sure the router is not "hidden" or "not shown" from searching networks. finally, if all this doesn’t work, ur router may need r xbox’s mac addess entered in allowed devices.

while u were u were trying each of these steps, u should have been pressing search for a network on ur xbox.
