Which wireless access point is best?
I am already using wifi in my home, however, I’m using a wireless (linksys) router and it’s a pain to configure. It conflicts with my modem and I can never get my ports opened. I’d like to buy a wireless access point to use instead, but:
How do I know which kind I need? G, B, A?
Will one unit work for my 2 story house, just as this router does now?
Do you have one that is decently priced that you would recommend?
Preferably something I could find at Fry’s.
I’d like to use it to access the internet with the an iphone, ps3, and my laptop.

use a westell B and I works great, and it was only 50$$
It works great win my iPhone and laptop, I fully recommend it!

You can easily turn your router into an access point – take the cable from the modem, unplug it from the router and plug it into one of the router’s LAN jacks. Now connect to the router and disable DHCP. Your router is now an access point.
If you want to cover 2 floors, place one of the antennas horizontal.
(BTW, Linksys is the best home-class router made. If you want better – and much more difficult to set up [not to mention much more expensive], get Cisco.)
