What type of Ethernet cable will give me the best results?
I’m curious… What Ethernet cable will give me the best results when connecting from the modem to the router? From cable modem to router should I use a regular Ethernet cable or cross-over? And then from router to Xbox 360? And from router to Laptop? I’m looking for the BEST results, not recommendation. Thanx!

Crossover ethernet cables should ONLY be used directly from computer to computer. Since you are connecting from a router to something else, use regular ethernet cables.

Ethernet cable has a data transfer rate of 10/100 mbps. That is a lot. No data stream has need that sort of speed as of now. So ‘Best’ need not be a problem.
Crossover cables are to be used when you are connecting one computer to another computer, not to router or switch.
Crossover cables are meant to connect two "endpoint" devices directly, such as if you wanted to connect your laptop directly to your 360. (I do this, sharing my wifi to the 360 to play live)
Use regular cables when connecting devices to your router. And unless you have gigabit devices (which you likely dont), a standard ethernet cable is as good as it gets.
Ethernet cables are not a cause for network lag or bottleneck. If you are looking for the "Best results," you are barking up the wrong tree. If you have internet lag, consider a new ISP.
