Trying to connect Xbox 360 to a wireless access point?

I’m trying to connect my 360 to an access point but I’m having some trouble. Quick overview:

We have a belkin wireless router upstairs but my xbox is downstairs. I don’t have a wireless adapter for the xbox but I have another router (that can be used as an access point). What I want to do is set up the access point to receive the wireless signal and plug the xbox into the access point so the xbox "thinks" its a LAN connection. The router I set up as an access point is a D-link wbr-2310.

I’ve uploaded some pictures (just click the following link then click either scan 1 or scan 2). Scan 2 is just showing the location of the equipment through the house, scan 1 is a diagram of what I’m trying to do (dotted line is wireless signal and solid line is LAN):

Any info will help! Thanks in advance!
@Brandon, I have a ps3 lol but I’m home for the summer and my brother has the 360
@Joe Macoosa, As far as getting to the menu you are reffering to, I know how to get there. The wbr-2310 can in fact be used as an access point.

I’ve gone to 192.168.0.1 (my routers ip – the one I am using as an access point) and set the SSID, password, channel to the same as my wireless router. I’ve updated to the latest firmware (1.05 for the d-link) and I Think eveything should be good to go.But when I plug it into the xbox, and go to network connections via the xbox, it asks for the PPOE information – I don’t really know what that is. I’ve put in the SSID and everything, but still not working.

how to have a better online gaming experience?

So I’m on xbox live playing MW2 and Black Ops and soooo looking forward to Battlefield 3 so I can throw away black ops and all the CODS. I won;t even sell them on Craigslist for I don’t want to be responsible for torturing any young adults with this garbage.

Anyways, I have done all I can do to achieve the best internet connection and I just moved from one Apartment to another a few miles away and same problem so it’s not "my apartments" I live in a rich neighborhood although I’m n ot claiming to be rich. More yuppies than anything here in Issaquah, Redmond, Bellevue. People who care more about their car than their children.

I got broadband cable over DSL.

I have 30mb down 6mb up.

I bought the best router while putting XBOX on DMZ mode. (doesnt help even when I go direct to modem so don’t tell me it might be my router)

I cleaned the cache out of my xbox hardrive and play the game from hardrive which speeds load times etc.

I speed tested my connection and tells me "faster than 98% of the rest of the US"

I did a DNS benchmark and found the 2 fastest DNS servers so I set those although I realize that don’t play much role in pingtimes for gaming.

I always play with all other computers ethernets unplugged from router so there is not anything else leeching off of my ISP

I have my wireless completely disabled on my gigaport router and run cat6 cables from modem to router to xbox

I’ve done it all folks,
Fact is, my connection is not the issue. And I don’t want to so easily blame the game Black ops or the entire Call of duty franchise even though I think they are pathetic for not letting us know where their servers are located so we can get a better understanding of why the connection is so poor, Because it happens on more than just COD. Battlefiled same issue.
I’m starting to think it is none of the above but XBOX MICROSOFT plain and simple. The wierd part is that I live right down the street from Microsoft/Xbox Headquarters. Shouldn’t I have at least a fair gaming experience, Why is it that I have the best connection in the room 99 out of a 100 times and it makes me host, yet the delay and bullet registering is pathetic.
Come watch my game play sometime on Black ops in theater mode. I’m not bragging but There isnt but a handful of people as good as me as far as a smart player goes and I don’t camp. I have been forced to play smarter because head to head I get unfair lag against me. I get the feeling it’s something to do with living in the Northwest because I know how good I am at these games. My wife watches me get first place 9 times out of 10 on the average but we both can’t believe how robbed I’m constantly getting. I only get first place like I do because I play smarter than most people and a lot more aggressive with noob tubes, rpg’s and double grenades etc. lol The fact is, if this was a lan line I know people would accuse me of cheating because my precision and instincts are supernatural.

Problem still remains however that living in the Northwest and Microsoft isn’t all they say they are. As much as I hate to say this I’m about to go back to Playstation even though their number one shooter game "SOCOM" was an absolute failure on PS3 SOCOM 4, and Zipper Headquarters who also is located just a few miles away from where I live, ignored the true SOCOM fans when we told them we want SOCOM 2 back, THE REAL SOCOM! Not this garbage the Military Industrial Complex apparently told them to make to benefit their recruiting garbage for another tyrannical staged terrorist event. Who knows.

Support your local militia and the Constitution that gives us our God given rights. Bill Gates supports death panels. Maybe we should throw these greedy murderers in jail for a change!

I just moved into my new apartment that offers wireless internet. The only problem is I don’t have a wireless card for my desktop and my xbox doesn’t have wireless. Do all XBox Consoles come with a wireless adapter?

We have a console that is a couple of years old. But our neighbor has a brand new one. They hooked up their modem to a wireless network. Then on the other side of their house they set up the XBox console. When prompted they tried to connect but it will not. I have mine directly connected via ethernet wire. I told him I think they need a wireless adapter. Am I right? Thanks a lot.

Will any wireless Ethernet bridge works with gaming consoles?

More specifically i have an (original) Xbox and obviously on the back, for internet all it has is an Ethernet port. I don’t want to spend the whole on the Microsoft brand one so I’m looking specifically at the Netgear WG602 as a wireless bridge. I know the online servers are down so you don’t have to tell me (I’m using the Xbox connect program but don’t worry about that).

Do I need a special Ethernet cable to connect to Xbox Live through my laptop?

I’ve heard that I can’t use the cable that came with my Xbox 360 Elite. I’ve also heard that I need a special CROSSOVER Ethernet Cable. Is this true?
