How can I increase wireless connection signal on my laptop?

I live behind my college and I use the University’s wireless signal to connect to the internet. My computer has an internal wireless router and I get a ‘low’ signal when I am online. Any tips for increasing my signal strength?

Can I use a Linksys WRT54G as a Wireless Access Point, without running a cable between the two routers?

Router 1: Linksys WRT54GS
Router 2: Linksys WRT54G

Running a cable isn’t possible, and I want to use the 2nd router to connect it to the first router’s network. Is there anything I can do to use Router 2 as an access point to Router 1, without running a cable? [I plan to use it for wireless signal, as well as wired connections to other devices]. I’m willing to purchase another device to plug into the router if I need to.
Sorry.
Router #2 is a Belkin F5D7231-4 Wireless G Plus Router
Only router I can replace is Router #2, the Belkin, which will become the access point. Router #1 is staying as LinkSys.

Come on. Surely someone has some wisdom. :)

Can I use the Apple AirPort Express As A Wireless Access Point?

Hi there,

Can the Apple AirPort Express work as a Wireless Access Point?

http://www.apple.com/nz/airportexpress/

I’m getting a poor signal since I work upstairs so I am thinking of adding an WAP to improve the wireless signal.

If you have used an Apple AirPort Express before, is it easy to setup since I’m using a PC, not a MAC.

Cheers.

How to use an old D-link wireless router as an access point?

Hi. My home network signal works great.. on the first floor. But when you try to connect to it up-stairs it is very slow and randomly cuts-out a lot. So i found an old D-link wireless router laying around and thought maybe i could use it to relay or boost my wireless signal upstairs. I want to place the router on the second floor but my house is not Ethernet wired and i dont want to run wire all the way up to the second floor from the first. So is it possibly to used my old D-link router to boost or relay my home wireless signal without wire? thanks :)
