Here’s the full setup of the connections in my house:
My parents’ room has the wireless modem which is connected to their computer.We have blink cable so a ruckuss wireless access point is connected to the modem which is connected to another one downstairs which is connected to the set top box.In my room there is a desktop computer and I want to get wireless internet on that one not by installing anything on the computer but by having some external device connected to it.Im hoping to get a ps3 so i want the thing so i can go up on the internet with it.PLZ HELP ME EZ 1O PTS.

Well, if I’m using wireless adapter for my desktop pc, will it visible to others laptop? Can the wireless modem detect whether there are other people who is using the wireless network?
My modem is not connected to my desktop pc. The desktop pc is belong to my younger brother next room. There is wireless adapter for the pc so it can gain network from my modem. I just want to keep my eye on him so he won’t stay up late at night for weekdays.

I have a Qwest Broadband wireless modem so it "shoots out" a connection throughout my house, so is it possible to "grab" onto that connection with an XBOX (not an XBOX 360) like a laptop, but without any extra hardware?

If extra hardware is needed, please recommend the best hardware to get.

ok, I got a PC Computer, and has a network connection wireless inside the hardrive. I got a ADSL Modem internet connection, but its not wireless. If I buy a laptop and has a wireless network, I can install the connection, and connect wireless on the PC? not the Internet modem, do I need to buy a wireless modem?

I have xbox 360 and its been a year that i’ve been playing with it but now i wanna play live. I cant join the ethernet cable in my roadrunner wireless modem because its far from the living room and i wanna buy the wireless adapter. But i cant seem to find the difference with Xbox wireless adapter, N wireless adapter and the Madcatz modem adapter???????????

I am getting a wireless modem for my internet service. I have a PC, a laptop, an xbox 360 elite and a PS3. I have to get a wireless adapter for my PC that plugs into the USB port. Can I use this same adapter for my xbox 360 or do I have to get one specifically for the xbox?

I have DSL that come with my phone service. I have a modem that has to use an ethernet. I just got a laptop and I want to connect it to the internet without using the ethernet cables.

Is a modem and a wireless router the same thing?

Do I have to get a new wireless modem or is there any other way to connect my laptop wireless to my modem?

We have a netgear wireless router mr814vtw which links to a ntl modem and pc. Upstairs we have a fujitsu laptop which has an inbuilt wireless modem. We have connected this via an ethernet cable to the xbox 360. We followed the advice of some web forums in setting ip numbers but the xbox test fails at DNS test. Followed all advice but we are not getting further. Suggestions and advice gratefully received.

i have cable dsl and want to play online with my psp and wii but i dont want to get a wireless modem only if i have to. What is a wireless adapter and if i get would i be able to play online?
