Yesterday night when i was watching 微笑Pasta on PPStream , my internet speed suddenly drops.
Then my laptop got disconnected with my home’s wireless access point. So i connected it back again but after a few seconds , it disconnects. I switched off and on my modem and wireless router but still , once i connect to my wireless access point , it disconnects again.

It got worst , now , windows is not even able to detect my home’s access point when it’s turned on.
But it works when i plugged in the LAN Cable through the wireless router.

What to do ? Router spoiled or something ?

Router settings :
Locked , WPA2-Personal.

It’s a TP-LINK Router.

Hi guys,

Well I have a 2Wire ADSL wireless router (inclues the modem), hence I was wondering if its possible to use this device as an wireless access point and not using its modem part. I.e want to make an wireless access point with an external modem or a already existing network using a CAT5 cable. If not is their a way to convert this ADSL modem/router to a regular wireless router?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have an Alienware M11x running on Windows 7 Home Premium. I remember once stumbling across something that made the laptop act as a wireless access point. I am trying to work out how to do this again but I can’t.

I have a wireless access point (Linksys WAP54G) plugged into a wired router and several other WAPs (also WAP54G)that I plan to spread around my location. My main question is – can I set the SSIDs differently on the other WAPs? Their wireless security are all identical to the network and I’ve MAC cloned the wireless MAC address of the main access point to the Access Point Clients.

What if I use Linksys WRE54G (several – about 2 or 3)? Can I set the SSID differently on them?

Here’s the full setup of the connections in my house:
My parents’ room has the wireless modem which is connected to their computer.We have blink cable so a ruckuss wireless access point is connected to the modem which is connected to another one downstairs which is connected to the set top box.In my room there is a desktop computer and I want to get wireless internet on that one not by installing anything on the computer but by having some external device connected to it.Im hoping to get a ps3 so i want the thing so i can go up on the internet with it.PLZ HELP ME EZ 1O PTS.

ok so i have dial up internet and i use my phone as my modem is it possible to put the wireless router on to my computer and make it work?
can you buy it at walmart then install it on your computer hook it up and use it? all as i want it for is for the wifi. because im getting an ipod touch 2nd gen and i wanted to have an access point for the ipod touch and other devises that require internet wi -fi. baisicly i want to have a wireless access point for the portable devises and still be ale to use the internet on my computer. so can it be possible?

I have an LG blueray player that has an ethernet connection only. My router is in a room far away and I don’t really want to run a cord that far. Is there any method for hooking my blueray player up with an adapter or something so it can access my wireless network. Someone told me a wireless access point might work but I am not sure and don’t want to spend any money until I know it will work.

I have a wireless access point which is my cable modem and router all-in-one. I wanted to get an upgraded router (Wireless-N) and wanted to know if I would be able to just hook it into my access point I have now or would I have to contact my cable service to switch out my access point and just get a cable modem.

I don’t know much about networking..
