Hi,
Here, at home, we’re supposed to get ±10 MB/s via cable in a package that allows us to divide the internet for multiple users in the house. However, as soon as a minimum of two computers are connected, there is always one with a fast connection and the rest are slow (via speedtest.net : fast one has DL speed of ±8.75 MB/s, the slow ones 0.5 MB/s) And, it’s always the same computer that gets the fast internet.
I’ve tried restarting the modem and every other device countless times with every possible combination of plugged in cables, etc. But, it’s always that one PC that gets all the speed!
The modem got replaced by my provider recently (the problem existed before that) but, the box which separates the broadband and has all the ethernet cables connected to, is really old- do you guys think replacing that would fix it?
An other solution would be, if I could change it so that it was my PC that got the good speed, and not the rest, because they don’t need it as much. When I need internet speed I always have to disconnect all the other cables, so that only my ethernet cable is left in that old box.
A few legit suggestion would be deeply appreciated!!
I’m avoiding calling tech support because of them being a Belgian company, they are shit and will tell me they’ll send a guy over in 2 weeks who will do nothing and then charge 100 euros for the visit- like usual.
Thanks,
Raul JvH
