I just bought an HP Omnibook 900 with an Airlink 101 Wireless card. The previous owner said that he used the wireless to connect to the internet without any problems. So here is the question. This is my first time using a laptop with wireless, so If I am in a hotspot offering wifi (such as a bookstore), what do I need to do to connect to the internet. Should it be as simple as clicking on the internet explorer and it will automatically detect the signal and pull up , or do I have to select something on the control panel ? Right now the laptop is running Windows ME, I plan to change it to XP in the future so I can run off wireless from my home home internet provider (comcast). Can someone please tell me what I need to do to connect to the internet. Thanks.

I don’t know why I shouldn’t be able to do this. I have a wireless pc usb card. I also have a router, but I tried connecting it to it with and without the modem, but it didn’t work, probably because the modem has to have a internet cable in it. I also tried making an hoc connection, and it worked, but my wii could not find the ssid number. I think that is only strictly for computer to computer i guess. What do I do?

Also, my laptop is pretty new (dv4-2040us Entertainment Notebook, HP, 64-bit, Windows 7. Should have no problem with it being "outdated")

I am trying to set up my first Home Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). I have being searching the web for information on routers(wireless Access points), but I am confused about all the different models, brands, etc. I will appreciate the good and bad experiences that some you might have on this field. I would like to know some of the best routers and I’d like to know the the problematic, the non-recommendable ones as well. I’ll analyze your suggestions carefully to set up a reliable and efficient wireless network. I now describe my system: I intend to connect to the network one desktop PC and a maximum of three laptops. Wireless network adapter in the desktop PC, Hp 802.11 b/g. Network connection: Intel(R) PRO/100 VE. Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have two laptops running on my wireless network. However, my E systems latop keeps dropping its connection whenever the HP Pavillion is connected. Is there any way I can stop this? Both laptops use Vista.

I’m currently connecting to a college wireless network, but every time I go into standby mode it disconnects me and forces me to re-enter my username and password (it even sometimes disconnects me randomly). Is there any way to have my laptop remember this login information so I’m not forced to enter it every time?

I have a non wireless HP printer. I have a wireless router. I have a laptop and a desktop computer connected to the same wireless network. The laptop has built in wireless card while the computer has a wireless adapter. Is there a way I can get wireless printing? I heard that if the printer has an ethernet port, I can plug it into the router and that will work. But, I am confused about that method. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Microsoft 6 to 4 adapter
Nvidia nforce 10/100 mbps networking controller
Do I need to buy a usb wireless network adaptor or do I already have one on this computer?
And if I need to buy one, do you know what would work with the Apple Airport Express?

Dell XPS has no parallel port and the generic pc does for my HP Laser Jet 4. The XPS has wireless internet(FIOS) access so I want to use the generic as the print server. I want to use the 327 W to patch the two pc’s together so I can print from the DELL desktop and laptop that are both wireless. Also, the FIOS router is not near the DELL XPS for a ethernet connection. Hope that was clear.

I have an HP Pavillion a340n with Windows XP. I think my video card has gone out because after booting the screen goes black but the PC is still on. My question is how do I know what ethernet/graphics cards will fit? The computer has an invidia card now that has both ethernet and graphis on one card. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got a wireless router, but not a 360 adapter. I got a ethernet cable that I can connect to my 360 and laptop hp windows 7. When I do these steps:

network connections
properties
sharing tab
and check all the boxes

I still cant connect to live. Anyone help?
