I have a wireless network in my house, with two printers and an external hard drive hooked up to a desktop computer in my living room. I can get to all my files, music, and stuff on the desktop computer from my laptops when I’m in the network IF the desktop computer is on, which is great; but I’d like to be able to access my stuff without always having to leave it on. So is there some kind of wireless adapter or something that I can plug in my wireless hard drive and 2 printers (all USB) into that will let me access them from my laptop even if my desktop is not on?
I’ve got a wireless router with ethernet ports.

Is there any way to make this work with my existing hard drive? I’d rather not buy another one, that has "NAS"

I have a non wireless HP printer. I have a wireless router. I have a laptop and a desktop computer connected to the same wireless network. The laptop has built in wireless card while the computer has a wireless adapter. Is there a way I can get wireless printing? I heard that if the printer has an ethernet port, I can plug it into the router and that will work. But, I am confused about that method. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Suddenly I cannot get on the internet on my desktop computer. It shows connected with no problems but no websites will come up. I’ve tried to disconnect and reconnect along with reseting the modem and router. I’ve changed the cables and still no luck. My laptop is working fine which goes through a wireless router attached to the desktop. I have cable for internet access. Do you think its the cable modem? I’d hate to go buy a new modem and still have the same problem. Can anyone help me?

I Just bought a Linksys wireless router and i have it installed and bridged to a quest DSL modem. Now i can’t use my desktop computer becuase it doesn’t have pre installed wifi capabilities. Am i going to have to buy a wireless adapter for all my computers now or can i still use the DSL modem for them? please help!

I don’t know what it up with it, but I need to restart it every half hour or so to remain browsing. It’s a D-link wireless, which is hooked up to dsl and a desktop computer by a cord.

I’ll provide any additional details that I haven’t put if you ask, but because the dsl is on another floor of where I live, having to go down and restart is every half hour is a hassle I really don’t like.

I had a nice wireless network set up between my desktop computer and my notebook. But I had to re-install the Windows and now I have no idea how to re-create the entire set up and internet connection. My desktop is clean now, with no applications installed. Where do I start?

I have a D-Link wireless router and am having troubles with it. I had it all set up, but then the signal started to cut in and out all of the sudden on my laptop (even though it was working perfectly fine before). So then I reset the router, and it doesn’t seem to work any more. I hooked all the internet and cables back up (after resetting the router), but then my desktop computer didn’t pick up the internet, so I cannot set up the router online! I looked on the router and the only lights that lit up were the ones to indicate power and a network, and the light that indicates internet remains dark (even though I have my modem hooked up to it!!!). I need some answers on what to do here as it is really giving me serious troubles!

I have a laptop and a desktop computer and I have a wireless router in my house. I think anyone who lives in the vicinity can jump on to my internet. I know its not safe. How do I close it out so that only my laptop and my office computer get internet access? Will it be safe from hackers after that? Please give me step by step instructions as I am a computer illiterate! Thanks!
