Ok so I’m looking at a wireless router that is also a access point. So is a access point were it will receive a wireless signal on a wireless network and hook a computer up to it?

Hello, i want to have my xbox connect to my lap top as if it was a router (access point). Does anyone know how to do this?

I have tried holding down reset button for 30 seconds and then trying to access the web based set up via IP 192.168.1.245 with no luck… Yes I have connected my computer directly to the access point via ethernet cable… Please help….
Yes I know the default IP is 192.168.1.245, so the manual is of no help…. I also tried reseting it….

OK, I put my wireless router as a access point (stupid of me) but now I can’t access http://192.168.2.1/ (configuration page) AND the wireless internet completely stopped. I tried resetting the router to factory default (reset button) but that didn’t work.
I’m using a Belkin Wireless G F5D7230-4
I tried contacting Belkin tech support and I regret wasting my 25 minutes with them
Oh and the wireless LED light does not show up either.
I tried:
1) Turning it off for 15-20 seconds with a paper clip in the Reset hole.
2) Turning it on with a paper clip in the Reset hole (for about a minute).
2) Unplugged all connections (except power) having a paper clip in the Reset hole.
None of them worked for me.I also tried 192.168.2.255 (configuration page) suggestion.

I was just wondering, as my pc doesn’t have a wireless adapter working as i cant find the drivers ( ralink rt2560 ) which i cant seem to find anywhere on the internet, can i use an xbox 360 wireless bridge as a usb wireless adapter in my pc? and how? or if that is not possible can i connect my pc to my xbox via ethernet cable and use the xbox as a access point? so i connect to the internet through my xbox 360.

i have a pc that is hooked up to a dsl modem it has a usb wifi adaptor on it and i have a laptop with wifi i can access the net tro it but i want to make the adaptor a open access point how do i do that?

I’d like to use my laptop on the internet around my home but I only have a wired router which connects to DSL Internet. Is there a way I can add a device of some kind to the wired router that would create an access point my laptop could use? I do have a desktop PC next to the wired router, if that helps any, too.
My router is a Billion 7402(G)L. It doesn’t have wireless capabilities built-in.

Hey Guys, So this is what happend: I have a desktop computer and i just move to a new house(I don’t have any internet yet) So i deicided to buy a USB Wifi scanner. And it was doing good, i use it for a month and then, yesterday, i accidently going to the administrator page(192.168.2.1) (I’m not the admin) but then i accidently go to the access point section and enable the option, and now i have the limited or no activty error? How can i fix it offline? or is there any way to fix it?

I have home network setup consisting of the internet cord going into a plain five port switch, from there it branches off to another switch and two computers. This first switch is also connected to my new airlink ap671w which is a wireless N access point (supports b/g/n)
My iPod touch will connect to the network fine. I can enter the access point ip adress and configure the access point itself but it will not connect to the internet. I have tested the access point with three other laptops. I notice the laptops connect to the network and it takes a few seconds to gain internet access but it works fine after those couple seconds.
I’ve had no problem connecting to networks at friend’s houses and whatnot. I’ve also connected to my laptop using connectify. For some reason with connectify the internet dies after a minute or so (I can try downloading an app but it only gets to like 22% if I’m lucky)

If anyone can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Access point network is set up with WPA2 AES security as an access point on channel 1 (no idea what the channel thing is about)
I have solved my problem!

Apparently with the new apple update the iTouch has stopped working with ip adresses that don’t start with 192. Since my network was running on 168 I was unable to connect my iPod to the internet.

I have four cisco 1250 access point in my office located in four different floors. The WEP key is same for all of the access point. But the names are different like floor_1, floor_2 and so on.

The problem is whenever a user goes to 1st floor to 2nd floor the user got disconnected and need to reconnect to get internet service or LAN service.

I would like to configure all these access point as a single unit with a unique name and WEP key so that wherever the user goes he/she will not be disconnected any more and need not to reconnect again and again.

How to do that????
