Wireless N access point help.?

I aksed earlier how to get my acces point to work in our gameroom and someone said it should be able to plug into wall whitch it did and should sync with our wireless network. It boost the signal way up except it keeps saying something like the network did not sign a network address. And has limited or no connectivity. So I have no connectivity.

We have a wireless N router a wireless N access point all our computers are wireless G.When I unplug the access point due to no connection my computer stays on that connection finds the network address from the router but the signal once again is extremely weak up stairs.Router works fine its just the Acces Point doesn’t want to work right.

We can’t run ethernet cords through the ceilings and walls so I need the access point to work right.Anyone know how to fix this problem?Any help would be great thanks.

Configuring wireless access point?

I currently have a wireless router using 192.168.0.99. This router has a number of wired devices connected, including a long run to a second building which is out of range of the wireless. I want to have wireless access in this second building. The second building currently has a wired hub with 5 computers connected by wired connections.

What piece of equipment would I use in the second building to set this up?
Would the second building be a separate network from the main building?
Would the router/access point in the second building inherit the network information from the main router, or would it be configured separately?
Would I need to change any configurations on my main router?

For what it’s worth, my main router is a D-Link DIR-615.

Trying to connect Xbox 360 to a wireless access point?

I’m trying to connect my 360 to an access point but I’m having some trouble. Quick overview:

We have a belkin wireless router upstairs but my xbox is downstairs. I don’t have a wireless adapter for the xbox but I have another router (that can be used as an access point). What I want to do is set up the access point to receive the wireless signal and plug the xbox into the access point so the xbox "thinks" its a LAN connection. The router I set up as an access point is a D-link wbr-2310.

I’ve uploaded some pictures (just click the following link then click either scan 1 or scan 2). Scan 2 is just showing the location of the equipment through the house, scan 1 is a diagram of what I’m trying to do (dotted line is wireless signal and solid line is LAN):

Any info will help! Thanks in advance!
@Brandon, I have a ps3 lol but I’m home for the summer and my brother has the 360
@Joe Macoosa, As far as getting to the menu you are reffering to, I know how to get there. The wbr-2310 can in fact be used as an access point.

I’ve gone to 192.168.0.1 (my routers ip – the one I am using as an access point) and set the SSID, password, channel to the same as my wireless router. I’ve updated to the latest firmware (1.05 for the d-link) and I Think eveything should be good to go.But when I plug it into the xbox, and go to network connections via the xbox, it asks for the PPOE information – I don’t really know what that is. I’ve put in the SSID and everything, but still not working.

How can I set up my Wii internet access through Clear.com?

When I try, the Wii is able to identify my home wifi network as an access point but the connection test always fails, even if I manually enter the IP address, DNS, etc. The customer support at Nintendo said that accessing through wireless internet like Clear.com (which I use) could be difficult. Is this true or just corporate buck-passing, and how can I make it work?

How to find out IP of gateway of static gateway from a wireless access point?

If I’m connected to an open wireless connection, but I’m not issued an IP because dhcp is not enabled on the AP, how can I find out what is the gateway IP of the AP? Do I sniff this out with wireshark? But I don’t even have an address. Do I first manually enter an address then use wireshark or Packet Tracer?

Thanks.
The background info is that this is a non secured access point. What ip scanner would you recommend? Person who recommended ipconfig doesn’t make any sense. There’s no reason for me to type ipconfig when I’ve assigned a manual ip. I just need to figure out a valid ip.

Question: If MAC filtering is on, will that router prevent me from connecting? Currently, the router does allow me to connect, but it just won’t issue an ip and I did manually set to some of the public ip and tried to ping and surf, but no go.

Can I use two Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router to create a single wifi network?

My cable modem comes in to the home office behind my garage, which is diconnected from my house. I currently have a setup where I have a Netgear access point in the office and one in the attic in the house, and they work together in bridge mode. The access point in the attic serves the house. This has been working just fine for nearly two years but the performance is a bit slow as the distance between the two routers is a bit much for the Netgears.

I’m wondering if I bought two of the Belkin Wireless Pre-N Routers, could I achieve the same setup? I don’t see anything about using these devices to create a bridge anywhere in the documentation.

Is there another setup you recommend?

Thanks,
ian
