Setting up a wireless network from an ethernet port?
My college dorm ‘apartment’ does not come with a wireless network–only an ethernet port in the wall…
How can I hookup the many wifi-capable devices that I have to this network? Do I need a router, a wireless accent point, a bridge, ???

Your college IT department should be able to give you their recommended solution. A campus network isn’t something that you want to "experiment" with. If you’re willing to purchase a wireless access point, they should have no problem giving you a recommendation of what to buy and what to avoid.
Either of the first two…. You don’t need a bridge…
