Is a network card the same as an ethernet card?

Probably sounds like a newbie question.
I went shopping for an ethernet PCI card (I’m getting DSL) I grabbed one, bought it, then later looked closer, and it didn’t say "ethernet" like the others, it says "network"… so is it the same thing? Will it work to connect the DSL modem?

one and the same cable anyway when you get your DSL modem it comes with the cables
