The other day i opened my computer and it just shut off. I kept trying to turn it back on and it just kept trying and then stopping. I plugged it in and i worked fine. seemed to be fine for a few more days and then it did the same thing today. Now i cannot unplug it or it will die. what could this be???

Does it have to do with not enough battery-power? Try charging the mac for a few hours.

It seems like there is something wrong with the battery even though it says its fully charged. do you still have the warranty? Give them a call either way.

This may be the batteries fault or the software you are using

The battery is kicking out. This happens with all rechargeable batteries eventually. Depending on the age of the battery, you may be able to get a free replacement.
Go to Applications>Utilities>System Profiler. On the left hand side, click on "Power". A few lines in is "Health Information." Under this it lists a cycle count. If this number is under ~200 you may be able to get a free replacement under the case that the battery you recieved is defective.
If this is the case, I would encourage you to go to an Apple store or call apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and try to get a replacement. Depending on whether or not you have applecare, this may be really easy or really hard.
If its an older computer the battery may just be going and you’ll have to buy another one. My 3 year old black macbook’s battery died last month. I was able to get a new one free because the battery was cracking. I made the case to the people at apple that it was a safety hazard and they replaced it free.
Best of luck and sorry this post is so long!
