If i have built in Wifi do i need a wireless modem?
Im getting a laptop and it has built in wifi (802.11 b/g?). do i need to get a wireless modem from verizon to get their internet. Also how much is 5 GB of internet, thats their biggest plan but i plan on using the internet alot since i stay on the go. Thanks

Yes, you’ll need some kind of modem also. The only way you wouldn’t need one is if you had city-wide wifi or something, or if you plan on only using internet at Starbucks. Only a few cities have free wifi.

Yes, you will need to purchase their wireless modem before you can get wireless internet on your laptop.
I’m not sure about their pricing plans. Try visiting their web site and look around there.

Get a wireless modem, yes. From Verizon, not necessary. Any brand will do and it doesn’t need to come from Verizon.

the verizon thing is most likely a 3g internet which is different than wifi. the 5 gig cap is really limiting, but the call is up to you.
The computer can already get wifi, so if your home has wifi your good. if not you need the modem.

Wifi is different than 3g. I think you are talking about 3g with the 5gb plan. you will need to get a card for the computer for 3g.
If you are getting an air card (like a cell phone plan for computer internet) you do not need a wireless router. 5 GB is enough for web browsing that is not video intensive. 1 full dvd is 5 to 10 GB. other than video 5 GB is quite a lot.
If you have cable internet or fios i would suggest getting a wireless router so you do not need to use the air card when you are at home. this will save your 5gb for when you are on the go.

Yes if you want to go wireless but if you want wired then no
If you want wifi in your house you need a wireless router maybe 40 dollars. If you want internet on the go, you’ll need a phone company card somewhere in your computer, this will cost monthly as well. I assume your talking about home wifi, so yes you will need to buy a wireless router, I recommend linksys.
