To use your wireless router for a Nintendo DS you need:
1) Setup your router to use basic WEP security. Nintendo DS doesn’t work with WPA. Setup a shared key (works fine with 128 bit encryption)
2) Setup your router with a low TX Rate value (It works with a value of 2 for me). High values or some automatic values will make you disconnect all the time.
I don’t know what model of router you have, but usually you can manage it by going to http://192.168.0.1 you will find the security settings as wireless basic or security configuration. The TX Rate usually will be under advanced wireless options.
Good luck
