I have qwest dsl internet, broadband wireless router?
I have qwest dsl internet for my desktop computer.
I really know nothing about internet & wireless internet. :/
So.. if you could explain this, it’d be greatly appreciated. (:
I want a laptop, the one i plan on getting does have a wireless card (or whatever it’s called) already installed .. I was wondering If i bought a wireless broadband router could i hook it up to my qwest internet (if so, how do i do that?) & would that make my laptop have internet, and could i use it anywhere in the house?
Thanks!

I hooked up my router to my pc per the instructions that comes with it. Then I called my service provider and they helped me with the rest of the procedure. I think you have to call them to get the router initialized. The laptop will automatically find the router. I hope this helps.

Well you have two options 1. almost any router will work with the Qwest modems, just plug it in and follow the instructions that come with the router, now depending on the quality of the router you get will determine how far the signal will reach or 2. Qwest has a networking modem you can get directly form them it has a wired connection for you current computer and a wireless signal built in that has a range of 300ft from the device, that might be the easier option the only down side is the one that Qwest offers costs $100
I would recommend option 2, having just one piece of equipment would be a lot less complicated, but if price is a factor for you then option 1 is more than likely cheaper!!!
