I have a Wireless access point setup & iphone finds it but cant access internet. why?

I have windows vista running on a wired network. I have a wireless access point setup to broadcast to my iPhone and my iPhone sees the network and connects to it. Whenever I try to use the internet connection though, I have no success. The error message says that I am not connected to the internet. I have no other wireless connections coming into or out of my laptop, there is no issues with the WEP authentication and my phone still sees the adhoc network I have created, yet it just will not work… any ideas?

I don’t have a lot of experance with adhoc networks but I would check the firewall running on the vista computer. There is a chance that it is blocking the iPhone’s connection to the internet. That is about the only thing that I can think to check.
