I have a question about D-Link Wireless Network/Internet?
My husband and I each have a computer an we have our music and video files sheared so we can access them on each others computer. The problem we are having is that when we hook up the wireless internet it take a VERY long time to copy a file from his computer to mine. But when we have it hooked up regularly it works fast. Is there something we can do to fix this?
Our internet is not slow…

First
If you mean the (regularly) that is the ethernet UTP cable, yes because it’s running at 100 mega bits per second
while Wireless LAN runs at 54 megabits per seconds
Second
Transfer rate is much higher on Cable than wireless.

get your self a faster wireless router…a 108 mbps. Any G router will suit u the most.

With a direct wired unit you are transferring at 100M. If the router is an older unit and your computer interfaces are running 802.11B protocol, then it is at the most 11M. If there is interference from surrounding devices, it will be even slower. Try going to channel 11 to eliminate some of the interference, get a G capable router and devices for the computers.
