I have a old laptop I'm working on for a friend…it does not have a ethernet port or wireless card…?
I have a router that has 4 ethernet jacks and is wireless. It also has the slot for a phone jack. Is there a way to hook the laptop up to the router to get internet or is the only way to get a wireless usb adapter?

You need to buy either a pcmcia ethernet card or wireless adapter. Hopefully the laptop is new enough to support cardbus.
You can buy the ethernet chip to go in the pc laptop there not expensive and easy to fit if you know what you are doing!!!
Probs cheaper then a wireless for the pc!!!
Otherwise just get the wirless its less hassel!!!
