You just need to set up the router. There will be an 800 number with your paperwork. Call the router manufacturer and get technical help so it’s set up right. They will talk you through it.

yes you need to run the WEP wizard and the network wizard to configure the laptop to the wireless router. this is all done from the control panel.

I have a laptop and wireless broadband. With windows, I have to click on my wireless icon and let it search for a signal, then tell it to connect. That’s why I use Linux, it finds all that without the bull —

Yes, i few things need to be checked. One, make sure your wireless card is on and active. Many laptops have the ability to turn off the card using an external switch, also some laptops may have the wireless card disabled in windows. (Assuming Windows XP) Once these are verified go into the control panel and and find the Wireless Network Setup Wizard icon (Service Pack 2), click and follow the directions. If this Icon is not available the same tasks can be performed manually under network connections. I would suggest turning on your encryption as others may steal your service without it.

go to network connections on control panel
right click your wireless connection
properties
internet protocol
properties
use following address
type i.p. address and sub mask address
this will be bottom left of your screen
apply and ok it

What you need:
Broadband connection given to you by an ISP
(2) Computer
Cable/DSL Modem
Wireless router
(2) ethernet cables
Connecting:
1. Plug in you modem, router, and computer
2. Plug one end of (1) ethernet cable into the modem, plug the other side into the router
3. Plug the other ethernet cable into the router and the other end into the computer.
4. Turn or your computer, modem, router
5. Run network connections wizard.
One computer will act as a ‘server’ and a laptop or other computer can now connect wirelessly to the ‘server’ and now you can surf the net..
you need two computers to have a wireless network.
