How do I password protect my computer so no one else can access my internet?
i’m getting internet access through comcast, but i think the apartments surrounding mine are using my internet because my connection is bad/slow. most of my neighbors have their internet password-protected; how can i password-protect mine? thank you!

they cannot unless you are using a wireless router.
but if you are using a wireless router, u have to type in your ip address where you would type a regular adress ie http://www.yahoo.com.
normal ip address’s are… 192.168.1.1
type that in and look a place to password protect your wireless router.

Are you using a wireless router if so which one.
If so like the poster above type in your IP address. Each company’s router will have a different interface. Look around and look for a category for wireless and there should be an option to set a password.
For example I have a Belkin router so I type my IP address into the top address bar. That will then ask me my password to access my routers software if you did not set the password it is generally set a "admin" without the quotes. In my router’s software everything is organized in a column to the left. There is a section for wireless and under that a section for security. By clicking that it asks me to Create a password.
