How Do I Hook Up A Wireless Access Point And Have Some Ethernet Ports?
I have a modem in my basement for road runner. Out of that, I have a wireless router, with ports in the back. There is a wire going from the back of the router up to my room. I need to hook up a wireless access point because the signal does not reach 2 my room because my house is HUGE. So yea I also have a desktop PC and a xbox 360 which I want to be connected directly without wireless. I have tried putting another router in my room with an access point connected to it, but it didnt work because you cant have a router connected to a router. So, Waht do I need to buy to have a wireless connection and some plug in ports?
so shoudl my dad exchange the router for a switch? Or a hub or wht shud i do?

You can have two routers attached to each other, sometimes it does get kinda complicated. You might have to change the type of routing method (protocol) such as RIP v1 or v2. It just depends on your router, I would try them all even try to diable it. You only need 1 router to do all the routing and the other would just act a switch.
