How can i get xbox live straight through my computer and only an ethernet cable?
I have a desktop in my room connected to the wireless router in the living room via a wireless card in the back of the computer. how do i just plug the ethernet cable into the desktop in my room and to my 360 and get live? will that work? i dont have a router i can use anywhere close and the routers too far away. can i just plug it into my computer and play?

Yes you can, but you need to make it so your computer will let the xbox share its internet.
Locate your wireless network which should be located where all of your network connections are located.
Right click on it.
Click on Properties.
Go to the ADVANCED tab.
Check the box that says "allow other computers to use the internet from this computer" or something along those lines.
After that, you should be able to connect to Xbox live.
