Can I use my computer to download files from my camera without having access to the internet?
While out of town on business I will need to download photos from my digital camera to a flash drive. I have to use my computer for the download and transfer to the flash drive. I won’t have access to the web. Can I do this without internet access? How do I do it? Thanks for your help.

Yes, but a lot depends both on the camera and the computer.
Does your camera have a memory card? Does your computer have a memory card reader? If the answer to the first is, "Yes," then you’re in luck!
If your computer has a memory card reader, simply remove the card from the camera, insert it into the computer’s memory card reader, and you’re all set to go.
If your computer does not have a memory card reader, you can purchase one for between $10 – $30. Most of these are USB attached and can read multiple memory card sizes and formats. Just connect this to your computer and insert the memory card as above.
Once the card is inserted, you will have access to the card. Most modern PCs have software that will let you view and copy almost anything on a memory card, so just find your photos, copy them to your PC and you’re done!

Certainly, you should not require an internet connection. There should be a cable with the camera (USB) or you may be able to remove the card and place it in a reader on your laptop.

You should have a connecting cable that will connect your camera to your computer. Typically this will plug in to a USB slot on your computer. It depends on your operating system, however you will probably have access to your camera’s memory shortly after you plug the camera in to the computer. Then you can just copy the photos off the camera and onto your flash drive. If you only have one USB port on your computer, then copy the images to your computer, disconnect the camera, plug in the flash drive, and copy the images to the flash drive.
