Is it possible to have a laptop give off wireless signals if it is connected to the router with a cable. I generally need to make one laptop sort-of a wireless bridge. Is it possible? if yes, pls say how.

It is rather easy to do on a Mac, it is one of the options in the sharing control panel. I assume you can do that also in Windows.

Just hook up a usb wireless router to your laptop.
This will give you the wireless bridge you are looking for.
An example of one is in my source.
