Can a laptop have internet without wifi?
I have cable internet on my desktop and my brother somehow uses the same internet on his laptop somehow. He says he uses wifi but we dont have a wifi antenna so is that possible? And if so how? O and if i buy a netbook do u think i can use my desktops internet like he said he does?

It’s possible, although kinda tricky.
In theory, he could be using the wired connection to get internet on the desktop, and then (if the desktop has a wireless network card installed), sharing the wired connection wirelessly from the desktop. If that’s how he’s doing it, there’s no reason your netbook cant do the same thing.

he could be tethering (using his phone internet on the computer)
or he could be using a dongle (A dongle is a small piece of hardware that connects to a laptop or desktop computer. It is a portable device and is often close to the appearance of a USB flash drive.)

You may need to use an ethernet cable, which will connect from your router to the computer. It’s a plug that looks almost like a phone jack. I would ask your brother.

may be he is using bluetooth access. and these days laptops have some great wireless options.

Most likely you have a DSL or Cable modem that has a built-in wifi broadcast.
These days, you don’t need an antenna, or at least a visible one.
Find the modem, get the model number off it and google the model number to find out if it supports wifi.
