No; that’s a European cell frequency (as a rule). Unless you get a quad-band or "world" phone with 800/900/1800/1900 mhz, it will only work in the U.S.
If you travel a lot, then a world phone is ideal; if you travel only occasionally, then you may be best off buying a disposable phone when you reach your destination, depending on ho long you plan to stay.
