Blackberry Pearl used as wireless modem for laptop?
Hi, I am wondering if there is a way that I can use my Blackberry Pearl as a wireless modem/internet connection for my laptop?? I have internet on my Blackberry.

some of them you can, you would need the cables and pay for the service from your provider

The service is called tethering. What happens is the device uses its data stream that usually delivers mail and such to the device as a way to stream data to the laptop. A usb a to mini b is required.
The downside is, especially when the bb is used as a phone, the data stream blocks the phone and any other email getting to the blackberry. It is also a drain on the laptop’s power (not terrible, but definitely something to consider). Lastly, because it does so many things, typically the aircard speeds (pcmcia cards) are slightly faster than the blackberry tethering.
If they’re doing it, go with verizon or sprint. They use CDMA which is significantly faster than GSM based services
