About my wireless ethernet router and laptop internet connection, and network adaptor.?
Basically, I have the internet > Cabel Modem > Wireless Ethernet Router > PC.
Now, if the wireless ethernet router and the internet on the pc were all to be working fine – and i were to try downloading the internet software onto my laptop to recieve the wireless connection via the wireless internet laptop port – that should work, right?
But my laptop tells me i need a network adaptor – which as i can see from my research are usually usb adaptors to pick up the internet signal – pressumably from my ethernet router.
Unless you have any suggestions, dont worry too much about my laptop wireless internet port not working – its very battered!
But if i were to have Internet > Cable Modem > Ethernet Wireless Router > PC > (Wireless ethernet router signal) > Network Adaptor in laptop > Working internet on laptop.
Right? =D

Right. Your laptop either needs to have a built in Wireless adapter or you need to buy one. There are 2 types of adapters, wireless and ethernet.
Ethernet uses a wire, as your computer does now. A wireless adapter is wireless.
For a laptop you need a built in wireless adapter, a USB wireless adapter, or a laptop wireless adapter. A laptop wireless adapter will stick out less.
For a computer you need a PCI wireless adapter (in the computer) or a USB wireless adapter.
So, on your computer you have an ethernet (wired)adapter and are connected to the internet.
On your laptop, check if you have a wireless adapter built in, if not, you need to buy one.
