I have a computer with a built in wifi card, and would like to create a wireless access point so that other devices can connect with this pc running xp wirelessly. I would like to share files/access internet wirelessly. As the host pc has a fixed ethernet internet connection/ dial up connection. Is this possible without the use of a separate router?
Lost wireless network setting prompt in the network settings when doing an update to the system. In the network settings it currently has wired connection, point to point connection, but nothing for wireless. There is nothing in the sys, admin, hardware driver!?!!? please advise
If I were to take my SIM card out of my Cingular phone and place it in an unlocked phone, such as a PDA phone, would that new phone be able to access the internet, even if my current plan does not have internet access included?
Or can I use any usb wireless adapter?
I have a dell Inspiron 1100 and I’m trying to get an ethernet cord hooked into it. The over all purpose is to run Xbox LIVE using my laptop as a router. The only problem is, when i plug my ethernet cable into my laptop it can’t seem to recognize that there’s something plugged in and can’t connect. When i go to look at the LAN connection it says network cable unplugged, even when its obviously plugged in? How can i fix this?
Obviously China has come a long way. The western nations always had the power over the west but in your mind in todays society, has this changed? Do they set the terms and agreements? Are they the dominant one in the relationship?

I have a linksys wireless router and wondered whether it is possible to slow one of the users internet down.
I don’t want to disable their access but rather cap their download/upload because they are slowing the internet down for everyone by using it all. I am not very good with computers although I can follow instructions so thanks for any help.
I have a computer in a down-stairs area, and I am trying set one up, upstairs. Is there anyway I can do this without running a ridiculously long Ethernet cable, or using a wireless network adaptor? I am looking for something that I could do maybe with an average telephone jack, and a telephone cord, along with a filter maybe?
