have some questions about wireless cameras. when running wireless can the other cameras function if the main usb cord or the dsl cord are removed. meaning if you just disconnect the usb will the other cameras on the system still work or does it matter?
My comany is connecting a mainframe to pc network. But currently connected to terminals.They wud like to access the mainframe from desktop.But now it’s running token ring but the manufacturer only supports ethernet.What are the possible solutions, hardware options and possible reconfiguration and how to redesign it?
I have a Comcast cable interenet modem right now. I was wondering if I could buy a regular wireless modem and hook the ethernet cable ftom the cable one to it if it would work or if it has to have a phone line going to it? I dont really want to buy a wireless cable modem because they are so expensive.

I have just bought a Belkin D5F3770 Wireless Ethernet Bridge so i can connect my xbox 360 to xbox live.
But i am having some problems.
When i connect it up the xbox 360 wont connect to xbox live. When i ran the connection test , it didn’t get past the first stage.
I contacted Belkin and they told me that i would have to contact my Router Manufacturer and ask them to forward my ports (whatever that means). But i think all i need to do is to manually enter some info on the 360.
Any ideas?

I’m trying to install a new printer on my computer but it is asking for a security key. How do I find this key? I have a Linksys wireless router. I know there you can type in something like 192.68.1.12 (something like that) but it doesn’t work anymore.
My next door neighbour would like to create a wireless network in order to access internet- through my wired LAN (DSL modem). How would that affect my computer? Could I be having difficulties when trying to access internet at the same time and -would it slow down my connection- speed?
I got an earlier version of a gateway as a warrenty replacement and it only has WEP encryption and I can’t update the firmware myself because it’s a gateway. (Only ISPs can update gateway’s firmware) I decided that wireless access would be best protected by restricting wireless access to only specified computer’s MAC addresses. Is this just as effective at keeping out intruders or leechers as WAP for instance?
Is it possible to have a laptop give off wireless signals if it is connected to the router with a cable. I generally need to make one laptop sort-of a wireless bridge. Is it possible? if yes, pls say how.

I would like to wire my two computers together so that data could be transferred. Both computers have an available ethernet port. I have additional ethernet cables available. How do these cables differ from the crossover variety? How much should I expect to spend on a crossover cable?
